Instructions: Use the values from your vehicle’s door-jamb stickers and owner’s manual. Enter GCWR, Curb Weight, Cargo, and Passenger weights to estimate your towing capacity. Gearing, tire size, and engine type affect drivability but not legal ratings.

Towing Capacity: lbs

Recommended Tongue Weight (10–15%): lbs

Notes: Adjust for tire size and gear ratio. Larger tires reduce effective towing power by 10–25% depending on size.

Safety Reminder: Never exceed GVWR, GAWR, or Payload from your door-jamb labels. Verify weights on a certified scale. Always use a rated hitch and trailer brakes.

How to Use (What to read on your vehicle labels)

  1. Open the driver’s door and read the yellow payload sticker for payload (lbs).
  2. Read the GVWR and GAWR (front/rear) from the white certification label.
  3. Find your vehicle’s GCWR and factory tow rating in your owner’s manual or manufacturer guide for your exact trim/engine/axle ratio.
  4. Check the receiver hitch label for maximum pull and maximum tongue weight ratings (with/without WDH).
  5. Measure or enter your tire size and axle gearing. Larger tires can reduce practical performance; deeper gears help offset that but do not change legal ratings.
